Substantial- Final Post

As we near Substantial Completion, the building is really coming together. Carpet is installed, the painting is complete and we are just working on a few punch list items. All of the trim work is completed and the hardware installed except a few items we are waiting to ship. The toilet partitions finally showed up yesterday and will be installed on Tuesday of next week. Plumbing, HVAC and electrical is complete except some labeling and a few punch list items that will be completed in the next couple of days. The folding partitions will be installed on Monday and Tuesday and the curtains next week also. The weather has warmed up a little the past couple of days which has made the Superintendent not as grouchy as normal.

Dec 10th - Dec 21st

We are making good progress on the building finishes. The ceramic tile has been installed, walls and doors are painted, ceiling tile has been installed and many of the light fixtures, switches have been installed. Currently the sisal is being installed, and we will be installing the vinyl wall coverings in the chapel in about a week. The finish trim contractor will be starting to install the cabinets, chair rail and trim work on December 27th. We are close to having permanent heat as the furnaces and associated ductwork is nearly complete. The soffit, fascia and gutters and downspouts have also been installed and really have completed the exterior of the building.

Nov 26 - Dec 3

The brick will be complete on this project on Saturday of this week which will allow for the last of the planters to be finished by the landscaper on Monday and Tuesday of next week. We are fortunate that the temperatures will be in the 60's- not bad for the first week of December in Nebraska! All of the landscaping will be complete by the end of next week, EIFS will be complete, joint sealants at the control joints of the brick and EIFS will be installed next week, and the sofitt and fascia contractor begins on Tuesday. The painting has begun in the existing building, and I expect all of the sheetrock to be finished next week. We are on schedule to have the painting and wall coverings complete before the holidays, and the finish trim, cabinets and doors to be installed the first 2 weeks of January. The HVAC contractor is nearly complete with the ductwork and will be installing furnaces next week also.

October 22- November 4, 2012

Landscaping is continuing with the sprinkler system installed on the West (front) side of the building and sod will be completed today on that side. Most of the planters are complete with fabric and rock in place. Mulch around the trees is currently being installed. The parking lot was striped this week and the wheel stops were installed. Storefronts are complete, EIFS is complete on the East side of the building and the brick has just started. It is expected that brick and EIFS will be completed in the next 2 weeks.

Cable has been pulled to the main panel and will have permanent power next week. Fire suppression main lines are being installed, electrical is 90% roughed in and wires pulled, duct work is 60% installed and we will begin insulating and sheet rocking next week. The steeple is scheduled to be installed in 2 weeks.
